Wine Riot, Green on Green Screen No More

The Second Glass is big, bad and nation wide starting in 2011. They have already taken Wine Riot to LA and have their sights on Chicago, DC, and NYC. Last month, they came back to Boston where it all started. They also asked me to do green screen for them. It's nice when you're finally pushed to do something you know you should learn anyway. Off I went to read about Chroma Key (think weathermen) lighting and processing and Google ads started putting up ads like "single and 40?" What does green screen do to people besides put them on the beach?

It is our first go. The background is a nice graphic skyline of Boston which was more visible with couples. Here's a time lapse video of the whole weekend... you can see me at work in the upper left.

With the groups, oh well, we lose the city. I've learned I need to get the light more even on the background or it slips into green at the bottom but that proved tricky with the flow of drunk people walking by the lights I wanted to do the job... ended up taking them down for their own safety. But, my old neighbor Brad took over processing and did a great job. As far as it being our first foray into green screen and needing to deliver on the spot with no time to make the green screen masks perfect in the computer, I think we did pretty well.
